About the Partnership

UCSF and John Muir Health are developing a network of cancer care centers designed to improve the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients throughout the east bay. The joint cancer network will provide distinguished disease-specific treatment capabilities, expanded clinical trial enrollment and precision medicine offerings.

Our cancer network began with the UCSF-John Muir Health Cancer Center in Berkeley, which opened in February 2020. In 2023 existing John Muir Health Cancer Centers in Walnut Creek, Concord and Pleasant Hill will also officially become part of the network.

Central to the network is the development of a world-class cancer outpatient center, opening in Walnut Creek in early 2024, which will offer comprehensive services. These include radiation oncology treatments, an infusion center, access to clinical trials, genetic counseling, nurse navigators, support services and additional diagnostic and treatment services in a patient centered environment.
