Understanding Birth
This interactive online course covers essential information about labor, delivery and more, including how partners can help throughout the birth process. You’ll learn what labor is really like, as you watch several birth stories—including what to expect with a Cesarean birth. You’ll even have the opportunity to create your own birth plan. Allow 4-6 hours to complete.

Breastfeeding Your Infant
Taught by one of our lactation experts, this virtual class teaches expectant couples about the basic skills for successful breastfeeding. Topics include positioning, latching on and how to overcome common problems. This class is ideal for pregnant moms in their third trimester.

Best Beginnings 0-3 Months
This course is for parents who have already given birth to babies 0-3 months of age. This 8-week facilitated series is designed to support you and your baby after delivery. We'll discuss topics such as sleep, feeding, developmental milestones, as well as how to manage the stress of becoming a new parent.

Understanding Multiples
Expecting twins or more? This self-paced online class provides reassuring advice and practical considerations regarding what you need to know about your unique pregnancy, including what to expect during birth, breastfeeding more than one baby, and life at home with multiples. Please allow 3- 5 hours to complete.

Understanding Your Newborn
This interactive online course covers essential information for the first six weeks and beyond. It provides clear video examples of bathing, feeding, diapering, dressing, comforting a crying newborn, and more. It also offers a variety of essential tools, such as breastfeeding/diaper logs and milestone/appointment checklists. Allow 2-3 hours to complete.

Breastfeeding Newborn Support Session
Join this group after giving birth. Designed for moms with newborns (0-3 months) who are latching and breastfeeding fairly well, this virtual support group (via Zoom) is facilitated by one of our lactation consultants who will engage the group to answer your basic breastfeeding questions and concerns.

Understanding Infant & Child Safety
Babies and children most often get hurt at home and in cars. This can be scary for any new parent. This self-paced online class teaches you how to prevent common accidents and provides life-saving information. The eClass online chapters include: Car Safety, Safe Baby Care, Safety Products, Home Safety, Poison and Emergency Preparedness. Please allow 3 hours to complete.

Nutrition & Weight Loss Surgery Seminars and Support Groups
Post Bariatric Surgery Support
This support group is designed to provide a collaborative system for all individuals considering weight loss surgery or those who have already had weight loss surgery. Topics discussed include common concerns/problems the post weight loss surgery patient might face: nutrition, exercise, vitamins and supplements, portion control, cooking healthy, and plastic surgery.
The Weight Loss Support Group meets the second Saturday of every month from 10:00am to 11:30am. Please email Bariatrics@johnmuirhealth.com with any questions.

Weight Loss Surgery Seminar
Living life with obesity is hard on your health and your quality of life. We have helped hundreds of patients get their lives back with weight loss surgery. We will support you through every step of the process, before and after surgery.
Find out if weight loss surgery is right for you. Sign up now for one of our free informational seminars. You’ll learn about the different types of weight loss surgery and the other parts of our program such as exercise and support groups – and get a chance to ask questions.
ONLY register for a seminar with the Bariatric Surgeon you are seeing. If you have not selected a Bariatric Surgeon, you can select any seminar.
To qualify for weight loss surgery, you must have a BMI (body mass index) of at least 30.
Times of seminars are subject to change and registrants will be notified of change in a timely manner.

Behavioral Health
Post Partum Depression Support Group (Virtual)
Facilitated by one of our mental health professionals, this small group is limited to 10 participants per cohort. Topics include symptoms of postpartum depression, anxiety, sleep, relationship with significant other, self-care, expectations versus reality of motherhood and what to embrace and avoid.
Groups are held on Wednesdays from 10AM-11AM.

This group is for individuals with localized prostate cancer to learn from each other, share information, and support each other.
