mammography at Berkeley outpatient center
  • A breakthrough technology for detecting breast cancer in its earliest stages, Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT), also known as “3D mammography, ” is available to all patients and is especially ideal for patients with dense breast tissue.
  • Our 3D mammography takes multiple pictures of each breast from several angles, providing clearer images and fewer false positives. This allows our dedicated UCSF breast radiologist to see through overlapping tissue to find hidden cancers. More accurate, expert reads are linked to better clinical outcomes with higher cancer detection rates. Early detection of small breast cancers, when they are most curable, may lead to milder treatments.
