Whatever the reason for your stay with us, we focus on caring for the whole family. We recognize and support the critical role that you play in your child’s healing process. We also realize that parents need care during this time, too. That’s why we listen to and answer your questions and involve you in our treatment plans --so that you’re able to fully participate in your child’s care.
Hospitals can be scary places for children—and sometimes for grown-ups, too. We understand that you want to spend as much time as possible with your child during this difficult time. That’s why each child’s room has a dedicated family area and comfy furniture for family members to stay overnight. We also have a family room for parents to read, relax or catch up on work and siblings to play.
From the critical care nurses and radiologists to the surgical specialists and anesthesiologists, all have been specifically trained to work with children, as well as collaborate amongst themselves—and with you—to provide the best possible care for your child. Our Child Life Specialist is also on hand to help your child learn how to cope with anxiety and other difficult feelings that may come up.
