John Muir Health (JMH) uses SMS (short message service) mobile messaging to provide alerts to patients, health care providers, and community members regarding new services, events and programs, facility information, and general health and wellness. The SMS terms below pertain to text messaging for the purposes described in this paragraph.
Text messages should not be relied on or used for emergency communications. In most cases, SMS text alerts are one-way communications to which recipients cannot reply.
JMH uses Epic SMS mobile messaging to communicate with patients about their individual health care needs and situations, including health screenings and appointment reminders. Please see MyChart Mobile Messaging Supplemental Terms and Conditions for separate terms pertaining to the SMS mobile messaging program.

By opting-in to the Health Tips & Information Texting Program you are consenting to receive text messages from JMH. Consent to receive text messages from JMH is not required as a condition of receiving care or receiving or purchasing goods or services.
By opting-in to the Provider Texting Program you are consenting to receive text messages from JMH. Consent to receive text messages from JMH is not required as a condition of receiving or purchasing any goods or services.
JMH does not charge for these text messages. However, message & data rates from your mobile carrier may apply. If you have questions about your text plan or data plan, please contact your mobile carrier.
The frequency of text messages you receive will vary based on which text message services you have chosen to receive.
Compatible mobile carriers include: AT&T, T-Mobile®, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, Boost, U.S. Cellular, Cellular One, MetroPCS, ACS/Alaska, Bluegrass Cellular, Cellular One of East Central Illinois, Centennial Wireless, Cox Communications, EKN/Appalachian Wireless, GCI, Illinois Valley Cellular, Immix/Keystone Wireless, Inland Cellular, Nex-Tech Wireless, Rural Cellular Corporation, Thumb Cellular, United Wireless, West Central (WCC), Cellcom, Cellsouth, Cricket, Cincinnati Bell and Virgin Mobile.
**Neither mobile carriers, nor JMH, are liable for delayed or undelivered messages. JMH cannot ensure the delivery of all text messages to you, as successful delivery is affected by numerous factors, including the accuracy of the mobile number you provide, your location within the range of transmission, etc. Additionally, enrolled individuals must promptly notify JMH if their mobile number changes. JMH is not responsible for the incorrect transmission of information via text which occurs as a result of an unreported change to a mobile number.
If individuals are dissatisfied with the texting program or with these Terms and Conditions, their sole and exclusive remedy is to discontinue enrollment in the specific texting program. JMH is not liable for losses or damages arising from delayed, misdirected, incomplete, or non-delivery of text messages.
JMH reserves the right to cease delivery of text alerts to any person at any time in its sole discretion.
