Family Medicine Residents

Affiliated with the University of California, San Francisco, the John Muir Health FMRP matched its first resident class in 2017. The Family Medicine Residency is proud of its sixteen graduates who are making their mark as Family Practice physicians, and the twenty-four Residents who are learning to lead and care for our community in a broad-array of settings.

Our mission is to prepare family medicine learners with the capability, curiosity, compassion, and courageous leadership skills necessary to excel in a variety of health care environments or practice settings.

The John Muir Health Family Medicine Residency (FMRP) provides broad spectrum hands-on training in a community-based setting, high-quality service to vulnerable populations within our community, practice and teaching within an evidence-based John Muir Health Medical Home model, and opportunity to lead health care transformation towards achieving optimal population health.

John Muir Health Family Medicine curriculum is designed to impart the tools that cultivate a passion for care of the vulnerable, and the proficiency, inquisitiveness and leadership skills necessary to excel in any practice setting.
